Anyone have any experience with Boost, Virgin Mobile or other prepaid type phones in the Waco Area. I am thinking about getting my son a phone but don't want to sign another 2 year contract. I was mostly wondering about coverage and how well the service worked overall.

Verizon has prepaid, and obviously if Verizon has good reception it will be good for ya. Boost is pretty popular so you can't really go wrong there either.

I just got an LG Optimus V with virgin mobile.
It's a 3g android 2.2 smartphone. Unlimited internet, unlimited texting and 1200 minutes a month for 40 dollars a month. No Contract.
For 60 a month you can get unlimited minutes.
Virgin Mobile uses sprints towers so you get the same coverage that you would using sprint.

I live in College Station and spend most of my time in Waco. I haven't had one problem with the phone yet in either area.
