I live out in Harris Creek by the McGregor Airport and we just got Grande in our area. We currently have the Time Warner bundle of Internet - Cable TV - Telephone. The Grande equivalent looks like it will save us around $50 to $75 a month.

Telephone may be optional. We have cell phones but don't get very good reception inside the house since we are down pretty low by the creek. We might even go for the "Magic Jack" just to have a dry means of calling when it's raining

Internet use is mostly to read news, use Google, e-mail, etc. No serious gaming. I do watch some Aggie sports online when they are available and we may want to stream videos with a service like NetFlix in the future but we don't currently use the internet for that.

TV must have HBO and Showtime and any service that will carry FTA Football but not the LHN !

Any comments on either service?

i have had grande for the internet for about two years and have not had any issues. dont know about tv/ phone, sorry

I switched to Grande several years ago. When I called TW to cancel they asked why, sent me to the retention dept. and said "Oh, we can't match Grande."

I've had no issues.

We had TWC for 10 years and the two or three times(needed a new ethernet card and something else soon after installation) that we called with a complaint they were out the next day to take care of it.

Hubby decided to save a few bucks so he switched to Grande...lots of problems, lots of garbled pictures, lots of weather related problems. He hates Grande but doesn't say much since he knows I was hesitant about the move to begin with.

I'll add my view, as some here have heard

TWC ~ runaway, almost worst bunch of lying sacks I have ever seen in my long career

then again, I had an option, because I left

DirecTV - satisfied with DirecTV @ Lake Travis, before TWC waYco, and very satisfied after I joined DirecTV again here south of waYco

a family member in waYco got treated the same way by TWC...got Grande, absolutely no complaints

Grande is advertising some really fast internet speeds. I believe they upgraded everything early this summer. For their promotional plan ($19.99 for 6 months/$45.99 regularly) they advertise 24 megs (which is very fast). I had Grande when I lived in San Marcos and always called when the promotional ended and they would change my service to whatever promotional they were running at the time.

I currently have TWC and have had no problem for 2 years in Woodway. I am paying $30.00/month (I call every 6 months to make sure they keep it at this price) for 8 megs, but average around 18 megs. I think TW has upped the speeds they're allowing because of Grande's really fast options.

We have Grande and they have been pretty good. When the upped their speed on data, we called and they changed our plan and lowered our rates.

I deal with both TW and Grande at work and Grande is more responsive by far when I call.

I had grande for 2 years in San Marcos. I loved them. Great customer service no issues with tv or Internet.
