Wish I was starting back. Hope to get word from the doctor this week that I can return, but honestly I am not quite ready. My lack of sick days will mean I have to go back probably before I should.

I was hoping you were starting back, 3GA.

Thanks Jan. This has been really humbling for me. I have found out that mind can only do so much, the body at 62 is just going to heal at its own speed.

And we will be getting a new principal in a few days. Great way to impress a new boss.

So I hope on Wednesday he says I can go back on the next Monday. And that I can drive. Being shut in the house for going on six weeks is not fun. Sorry to complain, but you never realize how much you need to drive till you can't do it.

+1 for good luck to all the teachers! My wife is starting a new venture tomorrow, after 9 years at Sparta teaching 3rd and 4th grade, she is moving this year to South Belton MS. She's a little nervous because she's never taught middle school before (and shes still waiting on her iPad).

Zooguy - There will be an MS ELA opening in Temple that should be posted within the next few days, that will start sometime in october.

Cool. Starting in Oct. is fine.

Is it an 8th grade position? She has her certification in 8-12 ELA/Reading.

Its 6th and 8th grade. I'll post my email later tonight with more info

she has had a great first week and is really enjoying the move from Sparta to SBMS. We went up there last night to fix up her room a little more and she was showing me all the stuff she can do with the macbook and ipad. all I can say is WOW!!! Long gone are the day's of overhead projectors.
