With over 300 students taking IB exams at Temple High last year, and with almost 30 IB diploma candidates, we had a 93% diploma pass rate. World average? 79%.

Our IB program is off the charts.

Had to brag. These were my kids their junior year.

I wish A&M had given more credit to IB when I came through, but I don't regret doing it. I learned way more from IB than I would have at my school's AP courses (down in McAllen). It's a great set of coursework.

I agree, Karrde.

Our IB students get so much more out of their coursework than do our AP students.

AP has it's place, and not every student likes the format of IB, but to me, there's nothing like it.

janag81 - I'm confused by the 300 kids taking exams but only 30 candidates.

How does that work? Or do you have a Temple High Web Page that explains it?

Hollywood, students can go for certificates in individual subject areas, but you're not a diploma candidate unless you're going for the full shebang. 6 classes (3 or more at Higher Level) plus the extras, like the extended essay and theory of knowledge class.
