Bastrop has over 7,000 acres burned with 0% containment

In Fayette county there is still a fire going which has consumed many houses including one our family has had for 5 generations.

Also reports of fire in ballets halletsville, shiner, and Columbus. Plus the one in College Station


Tomorrow's conditions are supposed to rival and surpass today's.

There was one yesterday about half way between my house and Janags. I just hope it is under control today.

This place is a powder keg right now

Was driving from Austin to Houston yesterday on Hwy 71 - got to Bastrop and the entire horizon to the east was smoke. The smoke clouds were billowing up as if from a volcano. Never seen anything like it.

We had to turn around and head north to 290 to get to Houston.
