More important, really, is what's the situation in the Leon basin below Procter.
Hasn't been a whole lot of talk, but the water supply situation for Temple/Belton/Killeen is WAY beyond bad. Belton Lake is at a record low, and with Summer around the corner and drought conditions expected to remain in place, it will be full blown, lock-down crisis mode without significant runoff into the Leon between Procter and Belton Dam soon. The unthinkable is the drinking water supply literally disappearing - yes, it COULD happen. For the first time in history, preparations are underway in some parts of the State to deal with such a situation. It's literally a worst case disaster that is actually very possible.
Luckily, the Leon was way up at Hamilton yesterday, and has started to rise at Gatesville. Hopefully this will raise the water level at Lake Belton, and avert a terrible situation.
