What is the word on this job? Do you think they will bring in someone from the outside? Also how were their sub varsity teams?

Not sure yet. They've got a former head coach on staff now, Steve Burrow, who was at Connally and Groesbeck.

They only had a JV team this year (no freshman team). They were pretty good. Have some good athletes....if we can keep them all playing football. Right now, everyone wants to be the next Scott Podsednik, so you have a lot of kids not playing football and playing baseball only.

West has many problems right now, one of which is being in a killer 3A district. West just lost 50 kids when Gholson started their HS. I suspect we will be 2A in the next realignment.

Is it worth applying for? You going to help get me an interview since you are big wig in the booster club? Maybe you and Janek can help out an olg Ag buddy.

I have no pull in that regard, unfortunately. I'm out of the booster club after May.

Let me put it this way....it'd be a hard place to coach right now.

I think if they went down to 2A and played Clifton, Maypearl, Whitney, and Grandview that they would do ok. Grandview would be only real tough one in that category. I think it would be hard for a year, but after that I think they would be ok IF they dropped down.

I think they will based on the numbers.

Coach Woodard's dad was the baseball coach when I was in high school.
