Yeah, I know it's a "golf course" in name only, and you generally cut the life of your irons by several months every time you played on the clover and dirt fairways, but I played on that course since i was a little kid, sometimes with my dad. Then, years later, I golfed out there with my own kids. I did play there in recent years, mainly to enjoy nice weather, get some driver and par 3 work, get heckled by the apartment dwellers on hole 9, and avoid the crowds at sammons or mill. The guillens have been as nice a folks as your ever want to meet, and I guess Roland just felt it was time to let it go.
RIP, old nine. You weren't pretty, but you sure gave me some great memories.
