I saw him in the hardware store this weekend and told him he was getting props on Texags. He said to tell you guys thanks for the recommendations.

Met josh today. Nice guy. Working up an estimate. Funny story... He says, " if you don't mind me asking, how did you get my number?" Me "Texags, ive been looking through other contactors with no luck, so i posted it, they know stuff".

I'll let his uncle know that Josh owes me.

Where is a good place to find tile. Box stores have A good selection, but are there any surplus places that we should check out for a good deal?

There is a Surplus Warehouse in Temple that used to have good prices. Not sure if they still do or not.

I'm glad that it looks to be working out for you.

I'm hesitant to offer advice on services like this because people's expectations can be so different, what is great for one person isn't for someone else.

But, Josh is a great guy and I have little doubt about his abilities.

So far so good. I've sent him some follow up questions an by no means are we anywhere near settling on a contract, but I think his initial bid is very reasonable.
Side bar: other contractors have been coming in very high, and my research was telling me to dig deeper. I'm no against a guy making some coin on me, that's only fair but the guys I've had out before thought I was an idiot noob and had no concept of how to remodel and do construction. Josh seemed to take my input seriously and not just dismiss my vision.

I have Josh coming Monday to start on a project for me as well. He didn't come in with the lowest price, but had the best reputation and recommendations from several others. Looking forward to working with him.

Chevy, do you mind tellin me the nature if the project, and what your quote was for. Ours wit start until late may and I just emailed him asking for referrals and pictures of other projects to see the scope, style and quality of work?

We've purchased surplus tile at the surplus warehouse on Franklin between the Loop and New Road. It is hit or miss on what they have in stock but their prices were better than most.

We can vouch for Joshua as well. We are kinda biased, since we are related and all... but if I needed something built in Cen-Tex, he's who I'd call.

78.3% of the people north of Elm Mott and south of Hillsboro within 15 miles of the I-35 corridor are related to Josh.

It's not exactly elite company.
