I have a German Shepherd that needs some a few vaccinations (e.g. kennel cough)... fairly new to the area, and looking for any suggestions/recommendations.

Who is the Aggie vet out by the airport? I've heard people like her/him.

Hewitt Veterinarian Clinic is Aggie owned, they've done a good job with my dogs.

I'll give another vote to the Hewitt Veterinary Hospital. We have been taking our dogs there for several years and they have always been great to work with. We recently had to put one our dogs to sleep and they were incredibly helpful and compassionate throughout the process. Good people.

We use South Bosque. Great clinic and reasonably priced. My GSP died after being run over and taken to emergency clinic, pretty tough. Dr. Johnston wrote me a really nice letter and donated money to the A&M vet clinic in my name. Good people, great vets.

Dr. Ervin is at Texas Animal Medical Center. We used her when we lived in China Spring. Interesting lady, loves animals and is an Aggie through and through (TAMC, nifty right?!). I think she also has an off leash dog park next to her clinic (only one in Waco). Not sure if the park is still open, but it was half a year ago.

Hope that helps.

Dr Ervin is good. We take both of our dogs there. Good aggie.

We have also used doc Anderson, Kim I think. She has helped a lot too.

Also: dog park is great. We go there all the time, free (takes donations) but we enjoy it

The Animal Birth Control Clinic at 3238 Clay is great for basic services like shots, worm treatments, and standard spaying/neutering (no age factor or other complications), etc.

We use South Bosque and normally see Dr. Williams but Dr. Roberts is GREAT also. They charge a little more for the standard stuff so we take ours to the ABC for the very basic stuff.

South Bosque also has a very good boarding program that is very inexpensive.

that's an odd name for a vet clinic

I doubt it is for catholic pets.

No doubt! I have a feeling my German Shepherd isn't a practicing Catholic. She never makes it to Mass, and her namesake (from previous owner) is Gypsy Rose Lee.

Im late on this thread but want to recommend Michael Fromm on LaSalle at the Circle. He's a Miss State grad but a super guy and even better pet doc.

We use Dr. Fromm too and really like him (waco animal hospital). He doesn't push unnecessary tests and prices are very reasonable. He has removed two very large lipomas from our dog and always remembers her and her history.
