Buc-ee’s will be located at the southeast corner of north Loop 363 and Interstate 35. The 60,000-square-foot travel center will be the Texas franchise’s 30th store, and the first to be located north of Austin. Arch “Beaver” Aplin, founder and CEO, said the business will provide 150 jobs.

Buc-ee’s will feature at least 56 gas pumps, Aplin said. The business is known for its Beaver Nuggets, fudge, jerky, sandwiches and a full bakery.

The starting salary for most employees will be $11.50.

Construction on the project will begin as soon as possible.

“It takes about 10 months to build, and then two months to staff it,” Aplin said. “I’m not looking for a project five years down the road. We’re looking for something soon.”

Mayor Bill Jones III expressed excitement for the project.

“Driving through Texas, you see signs saying, ‘Buc-cee’s, New Braunfels,’” he said. “Now you’ll see, ‘Buc-ee’s, Temple.’”

north side living pays off.

Horrible with directions. .... is this near McLanes and Wilsonart on the north side of town or near the Target/Home Depot area?

McLane's side. Excellent location with the I35 construction coming and the north loop expansion.

thanks for confirming mazzag....the first time I read it I thought it was going to be by the McDonalds/Chili's/Ihop but then after re-reading it I thought it would be up on the north side of town.

Heck yeah. I drive through that intersection at least 15 times a day for work.

I take that it will be across 35 and about 2 blocks south of where Love's was

East side of I-35. Intersection of the loop and I-35. Across the highway from that gas station w/ a Wendy's...

Sorry but what the heck is a Buc-ees?

Convenience store chain that started down around brazoria county. Have expanded into other areas with huge flagship mega-stores. Starting to spread north and west around I-10, 290, 59 south, and I-35 corridors. Some are bigger than others, but the big ones have bakeries, delis, cafes, souvenir shops, and their own brand of snacks. Clean restrooms, and gas pumps galore with the following novelty - NO TRUCKS ALLOWED.

Extremely popular with travelers, and the Temple one will be the only one north of San Marcos in Texas..

I don't know. Is there?

But I get it. I meant "on I-35". And the Temple one will be the furthest north in Texas, as well as on I-35
