Are there any in Waco, west, all the way to Burleson?

I need to meet my son part way to return his mini doxie I have been dog sitting while he took a long weekend trip with his wife.

It would be nice to have a place to eat and visit when we meet, but in the summer it is way too hot to leave the baby in the car.


I know that in California a ton of places have dog friendly areas. I have never seen one in Central Texas, but thought it might be worth asking. Otherwise we will just do a parking lot hand off, a quick hug, and go on our separate ways.

May not work since it's south of Waco but dead fish grill has a pet brunch on Sundays.

In Belton I should add.

Son sings at the dead fish once a month or so, and yes even at night people have dogs on the patio.

But I need a place to meet at two in the afternoon or so.

You may be able to get away with a dog on the patio or Rudy's.

You probably want to avoid this place....

no place in Waco unless it's a service dog and you have it's ID with you.

We wound up doing a quick exchange on the parking lot of the outlet mall. It is almost exactly half way, just a shame we could not in the heat have a short visit. I know that some people on here travel with their dogs and I had no idea it becomes so difficult.

Several of the larger cities according to a website called dogfriendly actually, have places where dogs are welcome for patio dining. And tons of places to stay. Not so much in the smaller towns. There are also more places when you get out of the heartland.

Couldn't y'all get a bucket of fried chicken and have a picnic at the park? Seems like a solution...

I don't do roadside parks. Read way too many articles about crimes at those. Read up on it with google and you might never stop at one again.

We handled it. Just did not get a chance to visit, just a hug and drive off. Would have loved to have a safe place to sit in the shade and visit for a half hour or so, but we managed. In the winter it would not be so hard cause you could even sit in the car on the parking lot, but this time of year, I can't take the heat from being outside unless I have shade AND a place to sit.

No, not a roadside park. Just a regular city park, in the shade, with picnic tables and whatnot. Kind of like the ones they have all over Temple, Belton, and pretty much any other town..

Wallace Park and Hillsboro City Park are not far off the interstate....

Just a suggestion...
