That's what I was hoping for cru. Of all the people we know, the one with land is in grand cayman! Wish we hadn't sold the land out me mother neff!!!

They have throwers, (both hand and mexhanical)but you need to provide a partner to pull. They may have an extra employee who can pull on occasion.

Hopefully they open back soon. Some jackwagon neighbor who's trying to sell his property got an injunction files on them to either renovate it close down so he can sell his property. I haven't been shooting since novemberish of last year... Starting to get an itch.

If you are coming from temple/belton are just shoot up 317 to valley mills. (Technically chandlers is in valley mills) but its about 1/2 way between waco and te mills.

If you are on Facebook, you can find them and they should have up to date info on their renovations and re-opening.

It is membership or day use. (10-15$/single day) or about $100 for year membership.

The engineer is still working on the redesign, so I'm not sure when the renovations at Chandler's will actually be completed.

You can shoot trap, skeet, and five stand at the Sportsmanship Club on post at Fort Hood. It's open to civilians and in fact, I'm one of the few Soldiers who are actually members. It's mainly old retired Army farts but they're a good group of guys, pretty helpful for me being new to clay sports.

The first time you come out you have to register your guns at the welcome center outside the front gate, but after that you just announce them at the gate and they'll check the serial numbers. Not all that onerous. Heres their website:

i've had some friends prefer this place to Weber's.

Weber's is pricey to me, but I live in north Temple (for now)and its the shortest drive.

Anyone have any recommendations on a good & cheap place to do an FFL transfer in Temple/Belton?

The guy from Deuce Tactical (CHL classes sign on fence near Cedar Break retreat on 317) has a place up on Old Howard Rd. I took the class and I think I remember him saying you could reserve a spot...pretty basic, but good enough.

Any archery ranges in the area? Live in an apartment and can't shoot.

Heard rumor the other day of an indoor range possibly being built in Temple. Anyone else heard this/have details?

There might an indoor range opening in Waco fairly soon. It's in the very early planning stages.

For now, Central Texas Rifle & Pistol Club is the best option. But you have to be a member and there is a waiting list to join, so google the web-site and call to get on the list now. The range has every option you might need available for rifles and handguns.

For shotguns, go to Waco Skeet Club by the airport. It's not private, anyone can go.

Anyone a part of the Temple Gun Club? For those of us in Temple, it's much closer than many of the other central Texas alternatives.
