what does it cost to re-tile a shower these days?

I hired a pair of Mexican brothers from Waco to completely rebuild a shower back in March or April. They charged me $900 and had it done in 3 days. Two other contractors quoted me $2-3k and several weeks. They did an awesome job and are used exclusively by one of the major banks in the area for all of their renovations and remodels.

$900? Damn. I assume you had to pay for the tile?

Nope. Gave them a $900 check when the job was done. I think i actually gave them $1k just because I was so impressed. The only reason they quoted $900 and not something less was because they had to drive an hour down I-35 to get to my house and their pickup truck guzzles $3.50 gas.

I'm telling you, these guys did awesome work. It was amazing. They're two brothers that call themselves "#1" and "#2", so don't be surprised if/when you call them.

Do they do exterior painting as well?

If you're directing that question to me...I think they'll probably do anything you ask of them. But, their primary business is flooring/tile work.

Got a quote from the Rivera brothers for two showers and I supply the tile. $3850.
