If I go to Killeen it's usually for locally owned, or ethnic food I can't find anywhere else

Acropolis Greek in heights is good

Chau's (Vietnamese) in the 440 Plaza. I like the sandwiches

Korean Kitchen on Veteran's Memorial

Bobby lupo's pizza in heights is pretty good

Old Chicago pizza (non-buffet)

Ava's Caribbean on Stan Schlueter is supposed to be good, but I haven't been

Billy Bob's (burgers) on Stan Schlueter

There are some Thai places over there. Some are better than others but some of them have changed owners so I never know what's going to be good. Tham Rab gets good reviews. And there's one behind the Wendy's in that strip center at the SW corner of WS Young & 190

C&H Hawaiian grill on Rancier is good for
Lunch, but crowded so get there early.

And then there are a billion chain restaurants up and down 190.

Have not found good Chinese or Italian over there. Anybody know of any?

In case La Ta Korea isn't up and running, I have info. La Ta was shut down today, looking for a new truck.

I'm in Bell Co, and don't do fast food chains, outside of an occasional Whataburger.

I did dine in Waco this afternoon, at Vegas Buffet on Valley Mills,...the old Pied Piper building.

It was very good, IMO. New, nice, clean. During the week, they have Senior Citizens discount until 3:30 pm for $5.99 for the buffet. Regular price for me was $8.39.

I was up there on business, so it was all a good day,

Haven't been in awhile and was thinking of going today...

If you like Thai food, I recommend Mee Mee's in Temple.

Or, drive a few extra miles to Cove. There are a couple of places there that are pretty good. Can't remember the names.

For German food in that area, Kempner Brick Oven is good. They also have a bakery that is great, but you have to get there in the am. Pretzel balls with cold cuts and cheese are fantastic, and if course they have all kinds of bread and desserts

Thanks Petey for the Vegas buffet tip...think daughter and I might try it this weekend.

if you want a good sammich, try Ferrari's, which is located across from the old Chevy dealer on Veterans Memorial. The guy behind the counter is sort of like the soup nazi from Seinfeld's. I think the guy who owns it is in the witness protection program. Visit and you will see why.

Gyro Nook is awesome. I eat lunch there at least once a week.

For good Italian food, try Giovanni's in Cove or Lampasas.
