What is the point of this story? I think just so some bu idiot could get his digs in.

I'll have to go back and watch the on air segment. Surely this wasn't said on the broadcast.

That whole damned area still has their little feelings hurt. Looking forward to Baylor being put back in its place.

Looks like an NBC report. Granted, KCEN didn't have to run it, but I don't think KCEN actually wrote the material

And this...

Is just dumb. I wonder what 5th grader came up with that weak bull****

Don't count on it happening anytime soon. Briles is an A-hole, but he's an elite coach, with the best OC in college football, a huge chip on his shoulder, a brand new stadium, and a stellar 2016 recruiting class in the making..

Briles is just getting started, and he ain't going anywhere. He'll retire at Baylor

And as long as he's there, in a weak conference, brace yourselves for a playoff with Baylor in it. And then it's pins and needles hoping to God those SOBs don't bring home a national title in football

Not going to happen.

What won't happen? A Baylor national championship? Why not?

Maybe. Maybe not. But "they're Baylor" is no longer an accurate dismissive of a sorry program

They are well coached and and are starting to get serious talent, at least in the verbal commitment stage

They would only have to run the table in a sorry league which would not be that hard for them and their system

They would have no conference championship game

Get a weak draw in the playoffs and there you have it, Baylor is in....

It is by design --- that sorry excuse for a league is built on having the easiest path to the championship. The only problem, tu thought it would be them or OU every year

Baylor will run both of them out of the stadium as long as Briles and Montgomery are in Waco

They may well win the BDF, but their bowl game this year showed what happens when they play a team with a pulse. IF the BDF team makes a play off (and that's not guaranteed with the weakness of the conference), they will not defeat teams from conferences who are battle tested. JMHO.

We'll see. Never know what happens 2,3, ... 5 years from now

The SEC is the best, but they are not super human. Decent athletes, good match ups, and a good game plan and anybody can beat anybody.

Ask Alabama (since we're talking bowl games and all)

Now, am I predicting a baylor national Championship within 5 years?

No

But it is possible. Plausible of you will

The impossible is no longer impossible

The perfect storm could be brewing up there,

I'd rather a damn rattlesnake in my sleeping bag than a friggin' Baylor national championship.

Wouldn't necessarily have to have a weak draw. Some teams, like Bama, don't match up well with spread teams. I'm not saying that Bama would lose to Baylor, but it wouldn't be a guaranteed win.

I'm with the Captain except the part about the new stadium...it seats 44K and all of those will be opponent fans AND there's no parking for them.
Captain Pablo

Parking will be an issue but bailure fans will fill up that stadium, at least initially, and while they're winning...

They used to fill up the old stadium occasionally back in the day. I remember sitting in that east end zone in the 70's, no benches, just concrete watching A&M almost blow a 35 point lead. We held on and win 38-31

Went to some other games -- rice, tech, etc. The stadium was full for most of them

Then the doldrums hit and I'm surprised that program even survived. I remember games where attendance was so sparse it resembled a 2A playoff game.

On attendance, it's a nationwide problem and will get worse

HD TVs, regional sports networks, cost of attendance, tight economy

And it's coming to Kyle too

We are building a brand new stadium and it will be grand

But half the seats are in the end zone, and those young recent grads who have been between the 20's for years are about to be cast into that giant block of concrete that reaches half way to the sun. And alot of them ain't gonna like it...

On the other hand, single game tickets will be easy to score!

I was in Floyd Casey in the 70s and it was packed.

The reason people in Aggieland would even think twice about tickets is the hotel 2-night minimum on top of jacked up prices to begin with!

Montgomery will be a hc very soon. Either that or will get over 1m as an oc. Baylor can't afford that

I'm moving to Magnolia.

I have to say, moving to a place where A&M dominates is awesome.

Either they're Aggies or LSU fans down there. Most are Aggies.

Good luck behind the orange/green curtain.

Wow. Good luck Jan. I'm sure you will be greatly missed at TISD too. And you're right about the Orange/green curtain. I'm used to the Orange but the green is claustrophobic at times because I always wonder where these folks have been the last 20 years.

Edit: this is jan

If you read the Tdt on Saturday, I am one of the 6 IB teachers leaving.

There is a reason, and it's not the kids!

But, yeah....the Baylor people are the worst! I've been telling people that the past few years!

Thanks!

Can anyone please explain why Art Briles always wears long sleeved shirts? Even in 100 degree weather. Even at night games when there is no sun.

He is rumored to have tattoos on his arms that he likes to cover. This has been both disputed and confirmed, so who knows?

A friend in the know says it's just kind of evolved into his thing now. The tats are just rumors supposedly. I've always wondered the same thing, that's why I asked my friend about it.

What kind of tat would an old man like that have?

Baylor would run Alabama into the ground. A&M did it. Oklahoma did it. WV did it. Baylor's got more than either Okie and WV.
