New thai restaurant at River Forest. Odd location, and we'll see if it has a chance in hell of surviving at that spot, but the food is very, very good, and the staff is pleasant, attentive, and prompt

Britt Drug went out of business. A belton institution, with old fashioned soda fountain and ice cream parlor. Sad to see it go, but I guess just another mom & pop that couldn't compete with the wal marts and walgreens of the world

Nolan Creek Low water crossing behind city hall is shredded

Jogging/walking bridge over Nolan creek at community center looks to be almost complete

Yeah I think the Klaus family owned it

Britt went out largely due to the ACA. New requirements on insurers meant they could only deal with large, chain pharmacies. I imagine Mom & Pop pharmacies across the country will soon be closing their doors.

Yep. This and Britt drug made me sad. Sorta excited about the Thai place on central.

Mr Klaus sold the business a few years ago.

The ones that reopened it weren't from here. Bad management and employees ran it into the ground. (Or so I've heard) my sister was looking to buy the pharmacy files and reopen, but the owners sold them to walgreens.

A few years ago. Whenever they put the bridge over 317. Though, they didn't close down, they just moved down 2305 a bit. They did it (my guess) because the bridge killed access to that location from 2305.

That QUIX place that is boarded up at 2305 and 317 (NE corner) has not been closed that long... I went there a few weeks ago...

The Quix is being remodeled.

I figured it was something like that..

I think I saw cars at the pumps..

The Quix was bought out by 7-11. They are finally turning it into one.

Didn't even know that one was boarded up. I thought he meant their former location, which is now an insurance office of some kind.

We drove to Britt Drug a couple weekends ago for a late lunch....completely disappointed to find it closed!

Headed back to Temple for Meggs and decided they were too slow so we came home...how boring is that?
