Hard to say, but I think Belton loses this week

Hendrickson was 10-0 before losing in an upset last year in the first round. They did lose some players but apparently still are very talented. They beat Converse Judson last Friday

As for Temple, yeah, I think Westlake takes this one

For your statement to be true, EACH of the games you listed would have to have higher attendance than ALL BUT THREE of the games I listed



If at least 4 games I listed have higher attendance than ONE of the games you listed, then your statement would be false



Temple, Belton, Midway, and Cove will all have higher attendance than at least one of the games you listed



Probably others will as well

If I know Yoe at all they'll have more fans at the Lexington game IN Lexington than the home team will. Not sure I've ever seen a small town travel like they do.

GDammit Rogers....you can't go from running the Slot-T for 6-7 years and not passing to deciding to go to a spread. A pass happy offense doesn't work when your qb didn't need the throw for more than 5 yards per game for 6-7 years

Their defense hasn't been real good the last few years as it was and now with a change in offensive philosophy it will take some time to get it going. One thing I do know though, Rogers kids always have a lot of fight in them, always have.

haha yea id say so. Also, a couple days after I posted that I talked to my brother about the team. Says kids dont like the new coach. Says he has a lisp and cant really say Rogers Eagles and the kids dont take him seriously. He quit to take up welding since he wants to go into Diesel Mechanics but he said he wasnt the first one to quit or the only one. Idk how the rest of the season was going to play out.

I can understand the coach wanting to go to a spread, but from what we have been running, there needs more transition than just an offseason.

Year 1: Slot-T, more passing
year 2: Balanced Offense
Year 3: 65-45 Pass:Run
Year 4: Incorperate the spread.

You cant change that in a couple months.

IF Rogers is going to keep the spread up, I can see them being good at it, but it wont be until these 8th graders are soph., juniors.

And our defense was pretty good these past couple years.

Well, I don't know that a new coach can just retain the previous coach's offensive system and then "phase in" a spread over a period of years

New guy has to just bring in his system, teach it, and weather the storm

If it works out, great

If not, make a coaching change and move on

If he ends up with a losing season this year, knowing the Rogers School Board and the alum, highly doubt he finishes year 2.

I know twenty years ago when Joel Berry put in the Black Gun it took them about five weeks to get it rolling and then in year two they went to the state championship game. No one has a four year plan. Maybe four games, but not four years.

Also, any time you have a change in a programs leadership you will have some kids quit and some others that didn't before come out. Nature of life. Nit all personalities gel. Some do. Some don't.

So they averaged guving up around 23 and 30 points per game on average (quick calculation in head so I could be off there)

I wouldn't say that's very good....

eh, the games looked better. they usually kept them in the teens until the 4th when we were up by 30-50 and they got some late TD's against our 2's and 3's.

Unlike Refugio, who would run their Starters even if they were up 70-0, starters the whole game. Both sides of the ball


But I understand your point. I remember being at the games and just seeing a complete dominate performance and looking back up these scores i didnt realize they gave up 3-4 TDs on average.
