I didn't actually watch the game but how did Baylor not score but 1 td after they first quarter?

Petty was hurt early in the game but kept playing. Many of his throws were off target. If healthy, Baylor likely would have scored 50+ in the first half.

The 2nd string QB played the 2nd half. A broken Petty is 10x as good as the back up,

SMU's o-line was virtually non-existent.

Thank you, Capt Obvious for that brilliant observation!

On a serious note the Baylor QB cracked two bones in his back...not a joking matter and I pray the kid heals without surgery or complications.

i think that Baylor's going to be legit for a while.
i'm honestly OK with it.

Wish the best for Petty.

I hope they don't go the Horn route of keeping Ash marching out there when everybody but the coaching staff knows it's better for him not to suit up again.

Ugh. Not me. Can't stand baylol and if there's one team I would actually hope loses to the sips, it's baylol. Not that I'd root "for" the sips, just that I never want baylol to win a thing

Their coach is a complete ass hole and their fans are the worst in college football

And oh that pathetic attempt to keep us from leaving... Screw 'Em. They are a joke

I do hope petty is Ok, but otherwise would be ecstatic if they went 0-12 every year

i probably just know to many "good" Baylor fans who know what their history is, to feel that way about the entire base..

Most of them were actually jealous of our move and wished they had the clout to do it themselves.

i've honestly only encountered one Baylor fan (from church) that acts like the online personas we see, and all Baylor fans I knew hated him.

ETA: I'm also a tshirt fan, so my opinion on the matter is fairly moot.

I am talking primarily about their behavior at sporting events. And yes, online

I've been to games at Waco, Lubbock, Austin, Baton Rouge, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and other places

Baylor fans are by far the worst

And yes, I, like everybody else, have friends that are Baylor fans or alumni and they are fine. Good people in fact. But even then, especially during realignment, some of them were getting a little confrontational beyond the normal friendly banter. A lot of anger

Of course they were jealous of us going to the SEC. I don't see how that excuses their behavior during our exodus

And Briles. Successful coach, but what a TOOL

And the local press!

The sooner they're back to doormat status, the better

lols no. you'd be categorized in the rational group i know.

this guy was in our small group and other prominent Baylor people were not fans of his. i'm all about smack talk, even as a tshirt fan, but this dude went bonfire. don't go bonfire.

No he went to Houston as HC from an OC at OU. I could be wrong but I don't believe they've coached together.

Interestingly, Briles flipped RGIII from Houston to Baylor when he left. Could have been in the Sumlin system.

That is correct. They have not coached together

Sumlin succeeded Briles at Houston

RGIII would have been great in either system. Both systems are built for guys like him, Manziel, Petty, and Hill. Mobile QBs who can hit a bullseye at 10-30 yards, and can throw it deep when needed.

I thought Phil Montgomery was the best OC in the Country hands down, and I wanted us to make a run at him when it became obvious McKinney wasn't working out. Even though Montgomery will probably never leave Briles

However, I would not trade Spav for Montgomery right now. Spav is gonna be great. Already is, really

Well then I stand corrected. Honestly thought Sumlin was on Briles staff at UH.

No it's not. Some of baylor's own former students are bandwagon fans. They've probably gone to more games in the last 3 years than they ever did as students. These are folks I know in their 30's & 40's. This is why they make me puke. You've been posting on texags since 2005? Not exactly the glory years. Makes you way different, IMO. I know some older Baylor alumni and they do love their school and have thru thick and very thin. I respect these folks. The others, and my many Facebook friends that suddenly plaster go bears all the time, I don't.

Yeah. Those are not the fans that I'm referring to that make it hard to hate Baylor blankety. You're describing the guy in our small group I didn't care for. Not the ones I know.

My best friend in this area was a season ticket holder in the Guy Morris years. That says something.

c-jags, that reminds me of something that happened a couple of years ago with a co-worker. He told me that he hadn't missed a Baylor home game in the last 25 years, and without thinking I said, "Dang, that's gotta suck!" He was not amused, and for some reason we are not exactly buddies anymore.

Sumlin went from A&M to OU when RC was fired. He left OU to take the HC job at Cougar High when Briles took the Baylor job.

When Sumlin & Spurrier met on the field before the game, Spurrier asked Sumlin had ever been there.

Sumlin replied 8 years ago with Bob. I didn"t bother to look up if OU played SC.

Absolutely agree with everything you said EXCEPT haven't met very many Good Baylor Fans. Actually sounds like a contradiction of terms to me.
