Hard to read Belton right now. Come out like gangbusters at Universirty (albeit against a bad team) and then get completely dismantled by Hendrickson. Those poor Belton kids looked like they were standing still at times

Guess that's why they're paying Bob the big bucks -- to turn it around

But, that said, I'm predicting another Belton loss this weak

Where are Belton GA tickets sold besides at the gate? My daughter bought one at school yesterday and she's not old enough to be dropped off and picked up and I can't find any friends to let her go with. So I have to take her. I think the administration building sells them?

So I didn't go. She bought a student ticket and sits in the student section. Yea for me. So I checked scores. Is the temple/Bryan game rained out? The
Belton score didn't look so good for them.

Went to the Rogers/Troy game last night. What A Game. Rogers defense looked great, then again Troy runs the Slot-T and rogers has had to defend that the past 5-6 years. Troy didnt impress me much, Has that big #99 and thats pretty much it. Then again, Rogers seems to only have #10 Brody Malovets.

The coach says he want to run a spread offense. I didnt see that last night. I say more of a Pro style. 2 WR, 2TE, under center and a RB behind you. We ran the ball damn near the whole game. It seems that all that we have since we couldnt really pass. We tried a couple passes towards the end of the game, and way over threw them. It was a tough game, Troy DEFINITELY had home field advantage with some of the calls that were called. All in all I felt like this was a HUGE game for Rogers to win, could be a season changer but I will pump the brakes until I see more from the offense.

Rogers won 21-20 when Troy went for 2 and we sacked the QB.



*Notes
We ran the ball almost all night. Troy loaded the box, everybody within 5 yards and just smashmouth football. I know the qb cant throw the ball that great, but I would like to see a Bubble Screen or something quick like that. You dont need to go Deep with the passes, I just feel like it should be something different to mix it up.
Also I feel with Rogers, if Brody goes down, I feel like thats the season. He's already a huge concussion risk as it is, and the passing game would help with that by him not having the ball as much.


ALSO, seeing A&M, Baylor, Oregon, and now TT do this hurry up offense, I feel like it had ruined football for me haha, games are so slow. Im yelling to hurry up when they go into the huddle after every play, and the NFL is EXTREMELY slow.

I am pretty sure it is a fully new offense they put in starting this week. It is actually using the talent we have and our strengths (offensive and defensive lines) without going back to the old system. The kids really, really needed this win. In a side note, future is bright. We now have two subvarsity teams and the freshman are pretty much killing everyone they play. JV got in the win side against Troy, but at a pretty big cost. There were several walking wounded at school Friday.

Anyone know what all the calls against the bench (according to the radio) were for?

Some of them were sideline flags, we'd stop them on 4th and the coached and players were excited and would step onto the field. Dead ball flag but still wasn't needed. Some were late hits where we stopped them on 3rd but with the late hit, flag, first down Troy.

Another series though we had 2nd and short, flag, 2nd and long, no gain, 3rd and long, troy flag, third and short, gain, 4th and really short, flag, 4th and 5 draw them offsides, play is still live, qb scrambles, lineman blocks guy in the back, flag. more flags, ended up being 4th and 20 before we had to punt. Horrible series.

So the bench flags were just the excited and step over the line thing? Those did not need to be called at all unless it was not cleared quickly. Let's not take all the joy out of the game. I thought maybe someone was cussing at the refs or making dirty hand signs.

I saw on one of the plays during that horrible series one of the refs threw a flag, brody said something and the ref didnt have a flag so he threw something else that was in his pocket up. looked like black plastic. there was holding on us, unsportsman like on them, and unsportsman like on us. thats what put it to 4th and 20.

That game, to me, Defines small town football and Small Town Rivalries. Every play is arguing and yelling, tight games, and at the end of the game, meet up with the other half of your family in the other stands.

Even JV night, at the concession stand there were those kind of reunions during the game. Since we only open the home stand that night, the Troy people come over, and it is rare there is not someone they are hugging or shaking hands with, family or first name friends.

I wish we could of kept that. Every game was a Rivalry game.

Honestly surprised Rogers won thus one, but like I believe I've said on here before, Rogers kids don't really know how to quit do I figured they'd get it turned around dinner or later.

Troy was a game I had pushed as a Rogers loss when I predicted 6-4. Of course I had Academy as a win so I guess it's a wash.
