I just heard about this today. If your BMI is over 25 you're eligible. I'm not sure about any other exclusion criteria and time committment, but compensation is $300. I believe they give you arginine or placebo and measure fat loss somehow. If anyone is interested I can find out more information for you.

I'm 4 inches taller at the same weight, I'm just below the overweight point. I'm a skinny guy. If I were on the low end of the proper weight category I'd look very sickly.

Very much true. However, considering how out of shape the majority of our population is, it serves as a relatively good and cost effective screening tool. To use technical terms, it has sensitivity, but lacks specificity.
