just a heads up, they have closed off the entrance ramp that merged into 3 then 2 lanes as of sometime before Thursday afternoon.

Now you have the access road that was two lanes with the left merging into one lane south, now it all merging into one, then a slight different into the newly opened long I-35 South feeder before Midway.

Only reason I am saying this, is because it has turned into a cluster the last two afternoons. The traffic from 363 exiting for I-35 South is backing up. It is bumper to bumper with all from each side of 363 exiting to I-35 South.

Once you make it to the new long access feeder, not bad. Maybe a half mile to go to exit to the third far right hand lane to go south.

I will add, just be patient and driver friendly. It really only added less than 10 minutes to the drive.

Just watch for the people that are not.

That's why cars were backed up to bob mills on the service road to the light Friday. No more loop for me.

Went through there this afternoon. No traffic, no problems. Didn't even have 3 cats stacked up at the light.

real fun today about 1:45, heading east towards I-35 from 363. Backed up on 363 for the I-35 South, sat there about 15 minutes, didn't budge an inch. Pulled to the left to do the turnaround to head back on 363 away from there. Exited Adams, went east, exited 35 South. As I drove by, I could see an 18 wheeler had moved about 25 feet some 20 minutes later

I was backed up to Bob Mills when I exited the loop to take 35 north. Took about 10 minutes to turn right n

It's a fuster cluck. I should be able to go from south Belton to temple, loop exit, in 8 minutes, vice versa. Not these days and probably not for a few more years. I'm so tired of my backroads. They're not adventures anymore.

And the extra miles on my car.

yeah, my commute of 6 minutes has gone to 35, not counting yesterday. Seriously, I wonder how long it's going to take for some city official, to call TxDOT and tell them to figure out another plan.

Surely, the businesses along the 35/363 will tell someone, who will tell someone, who will tell someone.

Few years back, TxDOT had shut down a road, had traffic backed up for 8 miles on I-35 on the Friday before Christmas Day. It made local TV News, some 500 cars were stuck in the shopping center parking lot.

Some ran out of gas.

It took the Mayor being stuck after shopping to call in 9 police motorcycle guys to try to direct some kind of exit flow.

Yesterday, after I had got on 35 South from Adams, the South access before 363 was full, 3 lanes and backed up, vehicles were sitting still for perhaps a half mile. That doesn't take into account the trucker I saw south of 363 still trying to go south.

Today was another cluster on 35. I left my house at 1:20 to make a 2:00 movie (inside out.) we pulled into the theater parking lot at 2:27. Once we pulled onto 35 there was nothing we could do to avoid it. One exit between Industrial and the loop and that just makes you stop 3 times to cross over 2305 just not worth it.

I refuse to get onto I-35 around temple these days.

I don't get where you are talking about. I go over the interstate on the loop to get to school every day and again to get home. If it is at the loop then it will be impossible to get to target and get back home since I have to get on the access road to 35 to get back on the loop headed to 2305.

I have no idea what bob mills exit is. I honestly don't ever remember seeing it. From belton there is the midway exit and then the one for 23o5, and then adams and industrial. Headed south, there is the north loop, and the buckees traffic has made that one busier, then industrial, adams, the loop and midway again. Then you are in Belton. If you need an alternate route from belton, take the old waco road past riverside (now summer fun) then get on Kegley to 2305, then hit the loop there to go north. You can take industrial across if you live in north temple. Or go west on 2305 to Hilliard and take the outer loop to industrial.

But have no idea what or where bob mills is. And I have lived in Temple off and on since 1952.

I need to go to target tomorrow. You guys make it seem easier to just run over the Harker Heights.

Bob mills furniture is the old Lacks down from where Safeway used to be but before where the Load n Chute was.

Ok, I see that was not an exit, but would hurt traffic to cracker barrel, natural foods, target, and olive garden. I am guessing I will brave the nightmare that is Walmart for what I need rather than the relative sanity of Target. Might just drive over to the Belton Walmart. I thought you were talking about I 35 traffic trying to get on the loop, not loop traffic trying to get on 35.

If you're driving from 31st to target, it's not bad because the far right lane is open. It's the middle and left lane of people that are backed up between 4:45-5:30 trying to turn left to get on I35 south. It backs up because the south bound service road goes from 2 lanes to 1 MUCH closer after the light than it did before. Friday's are extremely bad.
I will admit that the on ramp is much smoother than before. I used to stay on the service rd and drive past tex blast and go home on old Waco rd. Now it's pointless since the service road splits at the same point.

Don't you live out west adams?

Just take west adams, to the loop, u turn at I35, then into the target parking lot

I've been to the target shopping center several times in the last few days and have had no problem

I saw a sign today that said on Wednesday the Leon river bridge in Belton, by summer fun is closing and they want to detour people to I35. This has been my alternate way home and the easiest way to get to north Belton from temple. 35 southbound has been a parking lot from 6th to 190 for the last few days and not just during 5pm-6pm. I've had enough.

Why is it closing and for how long. I take that route to Belton frequently.

And in reply to Captain much earlier...

I live out West Adams, but usually go to target on the way home from Rogers where I teach. So I am headed from that direction. I will sometimes from Rogers take the exit that goes to Belton by way of Taylor's Valley and shop at the HEB there, and I go to the new Walmart by my house. It is really nice and almost more like a Target than a Walmart. I might go to a Temple HEB four times in a year. I love the one in belton and it is worth the drive tome to go there.

I have no idea. It's not because of the rain this past weekend.
