You can count on one hand the number of schools that have a winning record against Cameron and China Spring is one of them.

Come early. Parking will be at a premium in CS.

RB from Cameron is averaging like 250 yards/game

4A-1 vs. 3A-1

Tough call, but I'll go with Cameron

Are you going to make a prediction cougar? Once a Yoemen always a Yoemen.

I have my own opinions on some on the team as do others in the community but I will always bleed maroon. Go Yoe.

Who do you predict will win?

The Yoemen of course.

I am very torn with this one. I am going with my head and not my heart. I really do think that China Spring will win this one. I think that CS has the edge at QB and WR while Cameron has the edge at RB. CS will have the edge in the secondary. I think that makes the difference.

And was correct.

Great game! Good for both teams, glad there were no major injuries and the Yoemen are still on their #questfor4.
I don't know if you are there but I am sure you could see some of what I was talking about. There needs to be some 'attitude adjustments' with some on the team.

Haven't been to a Cameron game yet. Just curious Chicken what you've seen that may you say some may need an attitude adjustment? Cocky from too much success? Anxious about the pressure? Specific player(s)? Just curious, tia

There is a lot of cockyness - (is that a word?). A loss may be good for them. It is surely not the whole team but there are a couple of "me" players. There was a 'disagreement' at practice one day where a kid said the team was only successful because of him. I know at least one player took offense at that statement and there were punches thrown.

Last year at Florence Coach Rhoades pulled them all off the field and let them know that they were embarrassing the community. He did it for the whole stands to see and loud applause from the crowd followed. Cameron is beginning to get a reputation that we do not want to have. It just takes a couple of bad apples for it to happen.

They handled the China Spring game much better than many thought they would. They have not had to handle being behind much less losing. I don't think there was but 1 unsportsmanlike penalty.
Captain Pablo

They'll pull it together like they always do. Rhoades knows how to handle it

I am still In utter disbelief that Rhoades has not been plucked away by a bigger program

By all accounts -- good guy, no baggage, success at a bigger school before

Not that there's anything wrong with Cameron, but the guy is one of the top coaches in the state.

Puzzling. Maybe he just likes it there

He really wants to win four and having daughters in high school may have had a part in the decision making process.

Yeah. I guess he was wiling to go to Belton because he wouldn't have to move

I really thought Rhoades would have been a good hire for Belton. I did not think Shipley was the best candidate at the time but he is doing a good job.

Why would you want to go from being the Big Fish ( and looks to stay that way for quite some time) and one of the most feared schools in the state with a very long tradition of winning to go to an also ran at a higher level? The probability of going to another school with the talent pipeline in place is slim to none. LOTS of high school coaches leave their golden goose never to be heard from again.

That's true

On the other hand --- after 3 or four championships, what's left to accomplish?

Didn't Alexander weep when he peered across his empire --- because there were no more world's to conquer?

So, depends on what he wants. It must carry some importance because he applied for the Belton Job

Some guys might want to stay small school forever. It's what they like.

Some might want the challenge and higher level of play and competition that 6A school football offers -- bigger, stronger, faster players, bigger crowds, more money... lots of reasons he may want the challenge

He's been great. Not much left in 3A to conquer that he already hasn't....

He is the only coach ever win three in a row at the same school. He still needs to go for the 4th. His next step is AD at a big school district. That is what York did.

Didn't TJ Mills win 4 in a row at Sealy?

Has Rhoades stated that he wants to leave coaching to be an AD only?

Because York did it, that means Rhoades will too?

Tim Buchanan won three in a row at Aledo

I'm pretty sure there have been other coaches who have won three in a row at the same school

There are Aggies in Cameron??

I thought only 'sips & bares lived in the Milam Co. seat.

Once upon a time that was the case. The good guys have taken over. I believe 6 of the top 10 kids went to Aggieland this fall and about the same last year. Many others take the Blinn route.

Wouldn't that be more an example of a coach leaving Cameron to coach at a larger school, than a coach leaving Cameron to get out of coaching and into an AD job?

Toby was very young when he left Cameron, I dont think he was even 40 yet. He only coached at Conroe (That's a 3A to 5A jump) for another 6 years before he got into school adminstration.( Principal then Assit.Superintendent and Superintendant.) I know Rhoads is a good 12 to 15 years older that what York was when he was there.

Hell, it's all specuation anyway. I am just specualting that he stays around a while longer based on older coaches tend to stay in places where they are "good" carreer and family wise.
