Cove is 3-7 overall

But 3-3 in district, and they beat Belton, Heights, and Ellison

Everybody else has more district losses, and non-district losses don't count

So they're in. They actually clinched a spot two weeks ago. Their playoff game against Rockwall was set before last week's games

Just like the team from Houston that hasn't won a single game since 2008 and made the playoffs every year.

Our small 2A district now sends four teams as well.

It's a pretty much a joke

Coaches lose jobs for missing the playoffs. It's not a participation ribbon, it's a welfare system.

Belton will play Rowlett (won 44-34 over Sachse tonight) Friday night at 7:30pm at Homer B. Johnson Stadium in Garland. There's also a pep rally at The Gin at 6pm Thursday.

Breaking each classification into 2 divisions just doubled the number of playoff teams.
