They opened yesterday on West Adams, next to the new Little Caesars. It was fairly busy. I still prefer Gogo's for cupcakes since they have the mini size. A large cupcake is just too much for me.

The cake itself was excellent, just too big to eat comfortably. Needed a plate and fork to eat more like regular. Their flavor choices are limited, since I don't care for chocolate cake and 90 percent of their offerings were some variety of this.

Staff was nice and well trained, most people were raving about the chocolate if you like it. I happen to not care for chocolate cake or chocolate ice cream, but I do like chocolate candy.

There was almost a mini traffic jam, and they are not 'grand opened' yet. They are much easier for me to get to than gogo's but gogo's has more variety and does have the mini size which will pop into mouth in a couple of bites with no frosting on the nose disasters.

Have you lost your mind? You can get a dozen for less than $15. And it can be a mixed dozen. If they are banana pudding mini cupcakes, they don't make it home

Oh I don't doubt that. I could inhale a dozen of those puny things before we left the parking lot

Yeah, my first and last gogos experience was when I looked at 5 quarter sized cupcakes and thought "that cost the same as a half gallon of blue bell"

And that was that

Ok. The cupcakes looked and tasted VERY good. And that is sincere.

But definitely not my thing. It's like chick food. And not that that's a bad thing, if youre a chick.

Women aren't going to mind plunking 3 or 4 dollars down on something that is aesthetically nice, tastes good, and doesn't have the calories that a gallon of mint chocolate chip has

Wife likes it and doesn't blow her lid like me when she spends that much on a 1-bite dessert

Only the large cupcakes are that much, and even more at Small Cakes. But a large cupcake requires a plate and a fork since you can't bite through something that big at least with a female size bite. The mini cakes are perfect for women and children and for men who want a variety of tastes rather than having to spend four dollars for one large cupcake that is all the same.

The taste of the vanilla on vanilla cake at small cakes was great, but even eating a layer of cake off of the bottom, it was till too tall to bite through without getting icing on the nose, so it also takes a plate and a fork.

I was hoping they would have a mini size since they are so close to my house, but no luck.

So for variety and size options, I still will go to go gos. I just wish they were easier to get to.

3GA-- you are making this wayyyy too complicated. You are under no obligation to make each bite of a cupcake a vertical cross-section. I estimate I've eaten 300 cupcakes in the last 20 years and have managed to never get frosting on my nose once. I prefer mini cupcakes too, but I promise you are annoying your party hosts if you cannot manage to eat a regular cupcake with bakery-style frosting without a fork and plate.

If you really want the even distribution of frosting on every bite, just twist off the bottom and make a little cupcake sandwich.
