Don't have a rule 1 yet but picked up a CPO '23 Ram 1500 Limited today.

Dealer offered me a 9/100k extension on the full factory warranty for $2,400. I'm not normally one to but extra warranty's bc I've always owned a Honda or a Toyota so reliably has never been a huge concern.

But this thing has a ton of screens and other electronics and the air suspension.

Seemed like a much more reasonable price than I've ever seen, but back to the I've never bought an extended warranty.

Anyone done one and felt like it was worth it. Plan to keep this thing for 10 years or more. Dealer said I can call them within a month and still get it.

Wouldn't hurt, especially if you won't burn up the miles.

My buddy's dad loves his Ram but it's had a few problems that have been fixed under warranty. One thing to check and see where the warranty work can be performed. Some allow any certified mechanic can put in warranty claims.

I have always felt like they are not worth it as we buy mostly Toyota. That sounds like a good deal for that warranty for a dodge.

It's been a thing for generations about building cars like they used too ...it's only gotten worse the last 1 years and now add in COVID impact and all brands have problems
$2400 for that king is cheap
Between electronics and regular crap gonna go out within 8 years.... that'll get covered easy

And I say this about to buy extended warranty for my 22 f150

If nothing else, its peace of mind. I know many don't believe in it, but I usually buy it. We also "self insure" by putting a couple hundred a month into an account so if our other cars need extensive work, it won't hurt as much.

Quick story: In 1991 we bought an E150 conversion van when we lived in Florida. The extended warranty was 750.00 and came with a stipulation that if I didn't need to use it, I'd get my 750.00 back. No brainer. I bought it, never used it and got my money back.

I know, cool starry bra.

I would do it for this brand. We bought one for my wife's Cadillac (GM) and it paid for itself 3 times over. It cost about what you are getting quoted several years ago so that seems like a good deal. I would have expected them to be a bit more than that at this point.

Hers runs out in June this year at which point we will be trading it in for a Toyota, likely.

nowadays if you are keeping the vehicle more than 5 years and 100k
buy an extended warranty regardless of make, just shop around

Thanks for the feedback, going to contact Grangermotors posted above.

I saw that one on the RAM Forums as well.

Never did buy the extended warranty. Uncle got one for his Ram that included money back guarantee if he never uses the extended warranty.

Wife thinks it's a waste of money. Just put it in our stock account and make interest. When have we ever bought an extended warranty on a car? I pointed out that we've only ever owned Honda's and Toyota's. She said "that's a good point, do whatever". (or code for, you're going to do this anyway, why are you asking me?).

At 34k miles right now and about to take a 1500 mile road trip. Probably going to keep this thing until is 7-8yrs old.
