Jack for truck and son's car

Son's Camry was missing the jack when we bought it.

Right now, he has my old hydraulic jack in a case sitting in the trunk. I'd bought a truck recently and we drove to CO and took his jack with me b/c NFW I wanted to potentially use a scissor jack on the side of the road to lift a 1/2 truck up. He cane us and we put the jack back in his trunk before he headed back to school.

He's graduating college soon and will be in the Marines so traveling a bit. I wanted to get my old jack back from him but he needs a jack for the Carmry. Looking online, the scissor jack options seem sketchy at best and bottle jacks have such a small base I'm concerned about stability. I've only ever used a hydraulic jack in the garage and make sure it's oriented correctly to not tip over and then jack stands.

Any suggestions for a jack for his Camry? Amazon products seem so hit or miss these days. Half the 5-star reviews a product promotional reviews.

Can you not call the dealer and tell them they owe you a Jack? Or are you looking for something more robust than what the manufacturers put in cars?

Not sure how robust the various electric jack options are like this one

Bottle jacks are usually fine. Something like this even has an integrated jack stand.

Or just order an OEM scissor jack for the car?

wasn't bought from a dealer.

OEM price is $200. Seems steep for a scissor jack. Was looking for good quality alternatives.

As I noted in OP, seems like anything rated 'high' on Amazon, 1/2 the 5-star reviews are just promotional reviews, not people actually buying and using the product.

Seems tough to find a reasonably priced tool that won't go to crap in a year or two.

All the bottle jacks I have owned have the same size footprint as any factory scissor jacks I've ever used.

I don't remember who the manufacturer was, but I saw somebody post a jack on TexAgs that was interesting. It was a bottle jack and a safety stand all in one. I don't specifically remember, but I would imagine it had a pretty big footprint. Maybe a little bulky for a Camry trunk, but would definitely be a safe option

Flaith posted it above. It's a little bit to tall for a Camry.

Pick and pull and grab a scissor jack out of a wrecked camry? There are plenty of them in junkyards

Used Camry jacks on eBay

If you buy one, you will never need it
If you don't, watch out.

Use the website shown in here when buying on Amazon to filter out the fake reviews. This dude is annoying but shows some good stuff.

This. There are 5 dollar jacks by the hundreds in your local junkyard.

Also, you could just buy one of these for him or you, or both.

It's a legit great jack. Mine's been perfect for years and I lift (one wheel at a time) our 2017 Silverado with it.
