Looking for feedback from anyone that has had issues or good experiences with Progressive Auto Insurance in the past.

As an insurance agent I have had some struggles with their claims department for my customers.

As a consumer I have had 0 trouble with them through several claims in the past year.

From a body shop point of view, they are ok at paying claims. Like others, they will go to the end of the earth to write your estimate with aftermarket or used parts. The biggest complaint I hear about them is giving you a good price to get your business and then jacking it up once it's renewal time.

Your last point is just the way it is. Progressive, Geico, Farmers, State Farm etc. you have to shop it every two years to stay low.

I don't do personal, but on the commercial side, they are terrible to deal with and crazy expensive. Carrier of last resort and we avoid putting anyone with them we can.

But for me personally, we have been with Progressive for many years. It's not the cheapest, but it's not so horribly priced. We have been with them long enough we get several perks. Had our share of claims over the years and they have been decent to us. I don't care how the dealership/body shop feels about them so long as the work gets done.
