She is ok physically, but a bit shook up mentally. State Farm.

Could make some money doing that if that Farmers Almanac forecast for heavy snow pans out this winter. FWIW, my guess is $7500.

Had no issues today. Called my agent and left a message. He called me back in about 10 minutes. Called their claims # and got through directly to an agent with no wait. Took less than 10 minutes on the phone to arrange for a tow and to get the claim setup with the body shop. I am sure it was different trying to file a claim for damage from Beryl, but that probably applied to all insurance companies.

Actually, her wearing sunglasses and turning into the garage from bright sun to dark probably was a major contributor to her not seeing it. Now getting her to run the windshield washers a bit more often might be a challenge...

I am pretty sure the headlights and housings are completely intact and undamaged. They were working when we were moving it out of the parking garage for the tow truck pickup.

The puff of smoke you saw was most likely the freon in the A/C system leaking out. I have a hard time seeing how the condenser would have made it out undamaged.

Lights may work but it wouldn't surprise me if the headlight assemblies didn't have some of the mounting tabs break off.

Well, this is fun. The tow truck picked it up in Austin at about 4:15 yesterday. Apparently, they didn't feel like driving to Bastrop to drop it at the repair facility yesterday, so they took it to their yard. Still haven't delivered it to the body shop today and according to state farm, they may not be able to get it out here today and will have to do it tomorrow. Except I just looked, and the body shop is closed tomorrow. And I am leaving town tomorrow morning, so it is going to sit at the body shop for a week with nothing happening because I won't be around to authorize them to get started.

State farm will have to pay more rental fees...

As was said, nowhere near totaled. Private sale KBB value is about $43k. It does already have SSO rock sliders on it and a full set of Talon's Garage skids under it (that were not damaged).

That's surprising as it looks pretty bad.

Yeah I was surprised too. I think it was hitting the sharp edged post at relatively low speed right in the middle that made it look worse than it was speed wise.

I had a very similar accident in my 2011 Platinum F150 back in 2017. Right smack in the middle. Air bags did NOT deploy. Damage was $28,000. They needed an adjustment after they committed to fixing the car, but had they known at the outset the true cost, I think they would've totaled my truck.
