Have a 2020 Tahoe with the 5.3. Replaced battery with Duralast Gold in October of '22.

Battery all the sudden doesn't have enough juice to turn over. It's not dead dead, can still have lights, radio, etc.

I took it to Autozone for a simple battery check. Battery is showing 100%. Alternator and starter both showing healthy and functioning.

I'm not an electrical guy by any means but I can find my way around a vehicle. Any ideas on what could be drawing power?

Autozone said they can't issue a new battery unless it fails. The one I have is under warranty. Their solution was take it in to a shop for a deep dive into electrical troubleshooting. Figured I'd ask if you guys had any idea.

Either bad connection or the battery is bad. Part store battery evaluations are generally ****

Agm batteries do some wacky things.

I'd get a battery load tester and check it yourself.

If it is good then I'd look into a starter relay or fuse or fusible link .

When you try to crank is it totally silent? Any clicking noises?

Have you tried to jump it?

Crawl underneath and tap on the starter with a hammer then try again.

From the "that can't be it" file.. take the belt off and see if it will turn over.

I fought like hell trying to figure out what was bad on a friends explorer years ago. Tested and pulled the starter and battery, checked the cables, tried to jump the terminals on the starter. I could hear it engage but that was it... Turns out the AC compressor was locked up and it wouldn't let the engine rotate with the belt on.

Is it parked outside where the tree rats can get to the wiring?

Like fixer stated.. I had a starter on my Cummins that was blowing the fuse because it was trying to draw too many amps.

Electrical systems SUCK..

My wife's 2016 Tahoe ate batteries like crazy. Lots of tech plus short drives is a death knell for batteries. I'd bet you a coke it's the battery.

It was the battery as well as the starter.

Starter had been making a squeaking noise for about the past year but ignored it as it fired up every time. The load draw was 2x what it should have been.

Luckily battery is under warranty but starter not cheap.

are you handy at all? You should be able to swap the starter fairly easily. Lift the truck, remove the passenger tire, and the starter is literally right there. 2 bolts, 2 wires and you're good to go.

30-60 minute job for most folks

They only charged me $75 for labor. I could have done it but since it's already at the shop i paid it to avoid any headache.
