Can we all agree if you do this you're trying too hard? I saw a lady washing her Wagoneer this morning with a little ladder on the back. At least her boots match the Jeep.

I mean, she's got the roof rack too. Maybe she just got back from an off road trip where she had that thing loaded up, and that's why she's at the car wash now.

Almost as bad as a hi-lift mounted on a jeep that's never been off pavement.

Maybe it's barely even her car. My wife drives our LX more than me these days.

Looks like an aftermarket rack on top for a rooftop tent. How's she supposed to get up there without the ladder?

Looks to be integrated into the big overland type roof rack. I got no issue with it if they need it to make practical use of the rack.

I built my rock sliders where they could also function as steps so I can reach my roof rack without needing anything else like that.

With the ladder that's built into the tent?

Little ladders went out with custom vans

In the 80's those vans were the ****! My grandparents had one and we watched the same VHS of America's Funniest Videos 6000 times.

Climbing those ladders were the best as a kid. Bonus points when another family member was on it and you open the door.

We had one of those. Anaheim custom Chevy 1100 van. 4 captains cars and a bench/bed in the back. Plus vcr, tv, and individual headphone jacks for all.

Yeah I was kind of jealous of the kids with all that. We had mom's 2 door Sentra and a Caprice wagon with woodgrain. Your road trip entertainment for that long, 55mph speed limit drive to Big Bend is called "stuff you see out the window" and whatever books or small toys you brought along for the trip.

I get carsick and those vans were the absolute worst. The curtains on the windows and the tv were hell on me. I am feeling green just thinking about it. And the air conditioning was never strong enough so it was hot in those velour chairs. The little game table was cool though.

I'm a short guy who used to have a Trailblazer with the rack on top. Every time I had to load something up there, I had to bring my step ladder from my shop. Kinda wish I would have had a ladder on the back of mine.

Need to add the flat plastic gas tanks that attach to a side rack.

We played the game "suburban" and "slug bug" which I realized when I was older was a brilliant move by our parents to keep us distracted on long trips.

Those aren't snorkels. They are raised air intakes. 99% of the value is getting the air intake up and away from the ground and away from the front wheel wells and engine bay where the vast majority of DUST comes from that gets drawn into the air intake and clogs up the air filter.

You drive offroad in dusty areas, raising the intake and getting it away from the front wheels in particular cuts down on the amount of dust drawn in considerably.

The only way these can be used as "snorkels" is if all the electronics, the drive train vents, and the engine itself are properly sealed ad the vehicle interior sealing is good. That is almost never the case.

If your ride has desert pinstripes and rock dings like mine, stuff like this is legit. It has a practical purpose. They are silly on spotless mall crawlers.

Those little ladders look like they would break if an avg height/weight male used one. I have never had one to use. Are they sturdy?

Ditto although we didn't have the tv and VCR. I slept my way across the USA in the back of that thing on roadtrips as a kid. It was glorious.

Who cares. We had one on our 4Runner and it makes getting things in and out of the luggage rack easy.

Makes the racks on top actually usable.

Not everyone needs a ladder to reach the top of a little bitty 4 Runner.

Her money. She likes it. Don't buy one if you don't like it.
