How long do you want to ignore this user?
My center console has been worn down. Was wondering if there is a product that will somewhat fix the problem

Pics?

I suspect you have a leatherette armrest and not an actual leather one. If the finish is pebbled and not smooth, it's most likely leatherette. The leatherette tends to "melt" and separate on that vintage BMW. There's really no fixing it.

I replaced the worn out leatherette one on my M6 with a leather replacement from ebay. I don't ever see much damage to the actual leather interiors. If you're mechanically inclined, you can replace just the doors without having to disassemble the entire console.

If it's actual leather, I'd use colourlock over leatherique. Looks like they've recently been bought out, but they have exact match dye kits for BMW leather and color matched leather filler which you'll likely want.

I've used the black and sakhir orange kits on seats with good success.

They're really putting leatherette in a 7 series now?

For some reason, I was thinking the non-full leather 7-series cars of that generation came with leatherette on the console/upper doors like on the 5-series. Looking on ebay, I don't see any leatherette armrests so that may be off.

OP, if it looks like this, it's leatherette and can't really be salvaged.

If it looks like this, it's leather, and can be salvaged, but may not be worth the work. You'll need to clean, sand, fill, texture, and then recolor to make it look "right".

It looks exactly like the tan example. So I just can't clean, then dye it? I am very limited in my mechanical knowledge. Thanks for the help.

You definitely can just clean and dye, and it'll look significantly better. The rough texture will likely stay even after cleaning. That's where the filler and sanding comes into play.

If you can find the colourlock color matched kit in stock, it's a nice set up. If not, you may need to get a few different colors of dye to find the right match. I'd plan on doing the entire arm rest. The rest of the leather has likely faded in color over the last 10+ years.
