We are deciding between an Land Cruiser and a 4Runner. My question is, are there any decent dealerships to deal with? We are in Bryan and don't mind traveling to Houston or maybe Austin. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Tegeler in Brenham (Jim Clifton). Arrange price/details over the phone/email, go sign papers when it arrives.

looking forward for the new 4runner. Have not seen it yet. Probably has more storage room than the new land cruiser.

Seen it at a car show and our dealership just got 2 of them however I won't deal with anyone here anymore. That is why we are undecided since my wife needs to drive both and the 4 runners are just hitting lots.

Scotty Kilmer has been hammering Toyota for abandoning the V6.

He's for years praised the 5th Gen as a near perfect SUV, and I took his advice - approaching 200K with zero problem dash lights.

What is your issue with the local dealer ?

I bought a grand highlander 17 months ago and shopped it all across the state and BCS was the lowest on the deal followed by Brenham. Austin and Dallas dealers were the highest

Community Toyota and Cedar park are decent as well.

Interested to see what you land on. Both models occupy similar spaces and was wondering if there is some cannibalization at work here for Toyota. Aside from looks, they're very similar vehicles to me.

interested to see where this thread goes as well. Looking to get my wife into something newer end of the year possibly. Her current choices are down to the new 4runner, gx 550, sequoia, or my personal favorite a used gx460.

Does the new 4Runner require premium fuel like the LC?

So which did you decide? Trying to decide myself which one between the Land Cruiser and the 4runner.

I'm old, so this conversation is weird to me. Growing up, the 4Runner and Land Cruiser were never in the same consideration set. Crazy that Toyota now has them about the same size!

The new t4R, Tacoma, Land Cruiser and GX are all on the GA-F platform and are similar in size.

The LX600, the "big body" that we are used to seeing here is the only way to get the 300 series legally in the USA anymore, but also happens to be on the same GA-F platform. The LX and GX, Sequioa are the only way to get V6 models in this platform for SUVs.

When I looked at both before settling on the LC, I was shocked to see that there wasn't a large difference in price between the higher trims on the 4R and the premium package LC. For me, that made the decision to go LC pretty easy.

Yeah, but Toyota is really just going old old school with the Land Cruiser. It wasn't always an ultra capable luxury boat.

Boat as in land yacht…

I felt like they should have offered a LC Prado along the side of the 200 series other than the GX460.
