Going on replacing the oil pan on my 3.5 boost for the 3rd time. This one was replaced less than a week ago. Anyone know of aftermarket options that aren't plastic?

Sorry if this has been posted/discussed before.

The oil pan isn't the problem, wth is going on that it needs to be fixed again? Bad install?

Poor surface prep causing rtv to fail or perhaps marred / machining defect in mating surface.

All I know is the plastic one that came from the factory leaked, granted the pickup had about 125k on it the first time. Ford replaced the initial one, and 25k later it (2nd OEM plastic pan) started leaking.

I had a shop doing some front end work and they noticed the leak, suggested replacing it while they were working on the other items. One week later it's leaking. The shop is going to take care of it via warranty, but if there is an aluminum or other option out there I'd prefer to go that route.

The first plastic one lasted 125k. Plastic isn't your problem. Surface prep, incorrect fastener torque, incorrect rtv could all be the problem.

My 2018 with 75k mi recently went in for oil change (free at dealership) and they said it was leaking. Took to a trusted shop and they just replaced with OEM. But it hasnt leaked since.

Well, since it isn't an issue with the part, do you have a shop in Fort Worth you recommend? I don't have the time or skill to replace it. The techs at both the ford house and this shop apparently don't have the ability to fix it to my liking.

I do not have a rec sorry, honestly an oil pan swap isn't a complicated job. Find a good local mechanic.
