I'm buying my son his first car and he loves these things. I found a 2018 with @80k miles that's in my price range. I've test driven quite a few and outside of the ones which are trashed, they afternoon to ride well and seem nice. Is there anything I need to look out for? I know the Auto board isn't too fond of turbos and this one has 2, so I guess that's one downside.

I have a 2017 Q50S. It has not been as bulletproof as my 2013 g37x. But not particularly terrible or anything. I really like the car. If is pretty powerful/fast. It is pretty comfortable and I enjoy driving it. Feel like they are great bang for the buck in the sport sedan category.

It had several things break between 90k and 105k. around $15k worth at dealership costs. I had an extended warranty that covered everything. But the warranty ended in February and I am not particularly confident about keeping it long-term, despite really liking it.

Find out if the turbos have been replaced. Mine went at around 90k. Service advisor acted like that was actually late for them to go. Had a cam shaft actuator issue that lingered for about 18 months before they finally figured it out and fixed it. Doubt that can be really checked or predicted.

All that being said, if I decide to buy another car, a year or two old one would still be at the top of my list right now. I would just be a little nervous with one out of warranty since it seems that the things that go wrong are big ticket items. But that is probably true for most all the turbo cars around now.
