Does anyone have experience with the Lincoln Ecoboost? I'm looking at Aviators.

The only real points I have found is that it's based on the 2.7 (good) and there's a recall on valves (bad).

Only the 3.5 in the Navi.

I replaced both turbos at 137K miles. And the cat.

Been running great since. 162k now. No other issues, except I have some paint peeling off in some random spots. The vehicle is 9 years old now.

I have the same engine in my explorer ST. These are generally pretty solid and robust engines. Lots of tuned STs pushing crazy levels of HP on stock bottom ends. There is a recall related to valves dropping on both the 3.0 and 2.7 but it's limited to certain dates of manufacture and it's typically an infant failure scenario. Just a bad batch of valves apparently. They are prone to oil leaks. I've been very satisfied with the drive train of the explorer. The rest of the vehicle is piss poor Ford materials and assembly that was worse during Covid (2021 year model).

I picked up a 2024 Aviator at the end of last year.

Really happy with the power. Very smooth in general.

Very solid.

Keep fluids changed and they will serve you well for a long time.

I change fluid in the 10 speeds much more frequently than recommended. 30-40K intervals.
