Good looking truck!

How does it ride in the 2.7 turbo? I've considered downsizing to a Colorado or Canyon.

It does not lack for power at all. It's pretty quick. As for the ride quality, it's incredibly smooth. And very quiet inside. I have no regrets at all.

Thoughts on the ZR2 vs Z71?

It has a 3" lift and 33s. With that, the Multimatic shocks are awesome. It also has leather and AC seats standard.

I used to work with a guy that had a Z71 Colorado, and it was just a 4wd midsize truck. No personality. It was boring and plain, just like the Tacoma I traded in. The ZR2 looks great, drives great, and it just stands out from the crowd in midsize trucks.

I drove a Ranger Raptor as well, and while fun and fast, it was LOUD and the ride on the road was just kinda blah. And nothing about it really gave it the wow factor.

While it has a higher starting price, I think the ZR2 is the much better option and better value.

Towing capability?

It's not great, it's downgraded a little due to the suspension. I think it's right at 6000#, and has a payload of 1200#. That doesn't matter to me because I don't tow often, and certainly nothing big if I do.

Are they making deals on the Colorado?

Yes, they took $5k off the sticker. All of the dealers are taking at least a couple of thousand off. Every dealer I spoke with was offering this.

What's the interior like?

Interior is very comfortable. ZR2 comes standard with leather and heated and cooled front seats. I'll try and get some better shots when I leave in a little while.

Got the tint done today by Fabian. 50% on windshield and 15% on all other windows. It's nice.

Every time I see one of these in the wild, it's reminiscent of the Top Gear Polar Special Hilux, which is a good. thing. That ZR2 is a great looking ride.
