We recently purchased a 2018 Ford Transit 150 XL and are considering trying to upgrade the driver's seat. Does anyone know of a mechanic or service that does this? Location in Bryan/College Station, Houston, or San Antonio would be preferable.

The current vinyl seat is pretty narrow and short, so possibly a cloth seat (or other material) that is wider and longer. If power seats weren't too costly in terms of wiring (since it's all manual now), I might consider that too. The vinyl gets hot quickly, so I'd either want something more breathable, or to add a breathable cover once the seat itself had been replaced.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll give them a call.

This is tough because the seat pedestal is over the battery.

Maybe look at some high quality slip on covers, such as Coverland or maybe covercraft, they have some nice seats covers that have more padding.

Invest in some good ceramic window tint too.

These are super popular with the van life crowd, but I think they're kind of pricey. https://scheel-mann.com/

There's quite a few factory cloth replacement seats with and without armrest for sale on ebay in the $450 range.

I'd recommend checking out local upholstery shops or places that specialize in van conversions, they often do seat upgrades. You can also try reaching out to Ford dealerships or local auto shops to see if they offer custom seat options. If you're looking for something really specific, like more comfort or adjustments, some of the larger truck accessory stores might have what you need too!
