I have a Garrett T3 that needs a rebuild and my options are either; real expensive or chinesium from ebay. as far as rebuilt center sections go.

Is there a decent turbo repair shop around that isn't a Truck-Bro only type of place? The T3 was used in a bunch of 4 cylinder turbo cars for many years. It's a real common piece, but it's not from a diesel truck and that seems to be a problem for the shops I've called so far.

I haven't ever done any business with them, but there is Majestic Turbo in Waco. I think they would have no problem with a T3.

Forced Performance up near Denton is not truck centric. They do rebuilds. I know one of my EVO buddies used someone recently too, might have been FP, but I've got a question out to him and will let you know. I have also known about Majestic in Waco for years, because I think they advertise in some of the car magazines but I have no personal experience with them.

is this for a VW, mazda3?

Replacement T3s aren't mega expensive, just curious what kind of car

1980's Volvo 240.

Its old, but it will spool fast and support up to 200whp on my (NA 9.7/1) motor.

great response. Keep that old girl spooling.

By the time you pay someone to remove and rebuild, it may be easier to just get her a new one.

Prices online are $500 to $1,100 depending on specs.

How much is a rebuild?

Mine's an 88. I will "+T" the NA motor that is already in it. I have all the stuff from I believe an 85 turbo model which has a log manifold and the T3. That car made like 160-ish. Mine will make more due to the higher compression, but its a proven mod. Plus I am running mine on megasquirt. Easier to tune and keep it safe.
