Because this is the swap. This is what Rover's need.

That ecoboost would drive circles around the tdi all the while getting better mpg on a lower cost fuel.

I like my vehicle whole and original. Don't need ecoboost and I have zero worries on "paying less" for fuel.

Fuel economy concerns always crack me up.

Probably because I drove a 10 mpg K-5 Blazer with a 350 V8 in college so anything is better than that. As a result, I don't really care if my vehicle gets 13 mpg, or 30 mpg. I just want it to perform when I need it to.

And US fuel prices are pretty cheap anyway - except for California but that's mostly self inflicted.

In May, I took a vacation trip to Germany and Saudi Arabia where I paid about $10/gal and $2.20/gal respectively.

I learned to not buy my fuel in Germany at the service station on the Autobahn (it was about $2/gal cheaper in town).

Its not "fuel economy concerns". Its because this is a viable drop-in setup for Rovers that is faster, lighter, more torque, WAAAY quieter, and yes, gets much better mpg's.

I'm glad you're happy. Some of us would like to get a cheap Rover with a blown V8 and stick something else in there.
