I have a 2017 F150 with a rock ding and a two-inch crack extending from it that Safelite said would 99 percent certain break completely if they tried to do the typical ding repair. (Ding is about eight inches up from the bottom on the driver's side.)
They explained replacement would involve recalibrating the "camera" that that detects side motion and the like. This recalibration effectively doubles the price of replacement.
Anybody here gone through this before? Are there alternatives? Is the recalibration essential or just an add-on to generate more revenue? Thanks for any insights.
