Thoughts on ceramic coating and what's a fair price range for a 2 year old, 5 year treatment and what can you expect in terms of protection?

Do you plan to hand wash after the coating? If so, may be worth. If not, it's a waste of money

Yes to wash by hand. Never like to take my cars thru a brush wash car wash.

I've coated my last 2 vehicles. I did both myself.

I'm not sure how long the coating will last, but I've had good luck. My glass still sheds water after 3 years, I do not need to use my windshield wipers. It may help keep the truck a little cleaner, but not much. It will not protect paint from getting chipped.

I work from home, my truck stays in my garage. If your's is exposed to the elements more, you may not get the life out of it that they're promising.

I want ceramic if it will make washing easier, reduce the acidity of bugs-love bugs-, and reduce water spots.

I don't want to have to wash, clay, polish and wax.

I want to wash, dry and spray on some Griot's speed shine.

How much prep did you do before applying? That's always my biggest worry.

I did a full paint correction. I'm not as good as a pro detailer, but I can do a decent job. I've got the Porter Cable 7424, so I can do as good as you can do with one.

To do a good job, it takes me about 16 total hours including washing, clay, polishing, alcohol rub down, then ceramic.

Toughest thing for me is to keep from touching the truck and leaving hand or fingerprints when applying.

I leave a 7424 as well. Love it. I have been doing graphene spray on coatings and had decent luck with them.

I have a 7424 as well. Love it!

May try to do ceramic myself when it cools down. Most of my cars are graphene coated with a spray product. Pretty happy with it except for longevity
