So I've got this older car and the driver's door checker seems to be worn out. The door swings wide open very freely, and always wants to shut by itself.

Is there a way to get some friction or resistance back in the door checker without replacing it? New part is $60.

Just buy the part and do it right. $60 is nothing compared to the price of a new car.
