Have a 2014 4Runner that suffers from the lousy Toyo paint along with the beating of Texas summers.

Figured vinyl wrapping was cheaper than a repaint.

anybody have a shop in Houston or even Dallas they'd recommend?

Have you done much research? Wrap is going to cost you $5-7k at a shop (probably on the high end) and last you 2-5 years. If your existing clear is bubbled, it'll have to be sanded down or you'll see the flaking clear lines under the wrap and the wrap will lift.

I'd spend the $3500-4000 for a Maaco base/clear paint job over a wrap for a car like that.

MBC Tint (Fabian's shop) in Houston does wraps. He was doing a GX a while back that I saw while he was tinting my wife's new car. It looked awesome. I think he said that ran about $5k with the ceramic treatment on top of it.

It's an 11 year old vehicle...I wouldn't spend a single dollar on paint. Throwing money down a hole.

Thanks for the input.

Figured the wrap was cheaper than paint but maybe not.

If it's just on a specific door, it may be cheaper to just replace the entire door. That's what I did on a Tacoma. $1,200.

I'd paint it. I put brand new Katzkin leather in my 23 year old F150, front and rear and my FIL just painted his 25 year old 7.3.

Zero reason to abuse and neglect the vehicle just because it's old.
