2003 G35. Grandma owned it before me; it was in immaculate shape. Sold it during Covid for extra $$ as it was a second car, and I was only 5 minutes from work at the time. I never had any issues with it and put new tires on it.

Always regretted selling it.

Been looking for a cheap "beater".

Has 30k more miles since I sold it 5 years ago. Going to go drive it this afternoon. They're selling it for what I sold it to Carmax for.

Thoughts?
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

This seems very personal to the car's history, your history with the car yourself, and what you want out of a "cheap beater". I wouldn't listen to what anyone else says about it, do what brings you happiness.

Never mind, it was an awful shape. The paint job had deteriorated really badly, the leather was starting to peel inside, and the transmission was definitely slipping.

Too bad; I loved that car and it was in superior condition when I sold it. Whoever owned it really ragged it.

That's fine; looking at a Nissan Xterra tonight that's supposed to be in really good shape.

Second gen, I assume? 2005 or later? Pretty reliable. Only consistent issue is a transmission cooler line that is prone to corrode, so that needs to be checked.

I used to have a 2006 Xterra with manual transmission back in 2007-2011, really liked it. Recently bought by new driver son a 2011 Pro 4X with auto transmission, definitely jogged some memories for me. Really old school vehicles, no driver aides, no power seats, no auto headlights even. Lucky to have power windows and locks and cruise control. I like the throwback feel I get when I drive it, but I'm also old and nostalgic.

Yeah, seems like it's been taken care of. Valve covers and timing belt just replaced at 115,000 miles; it now has 130,000 miles. New tires within the past six months.

Didn't know it was a one owner car. Even better.

Shifted great, engine sounded good, no issues that I saw mechanically at all.

Had some cosmetic damage, but not too worried about that. It's a 19-year-old car.

I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

The 2011 I bought was a one owner with 86K miles, drove it from Maryland to Texas right after buying it. Zero issues so far. These are reliable, many examples for sale with 200K+ miles.

I had to sell my truck before going overseas years ago. A lovely young lady bought it. I was fond of that truck. When I got back a few years later, I married the girl and got my truck back!
