Inherited a '92 Chevy pickup. Title may be lost. At some point the engine was swapped with a 454. Been in a barn for the past 2 years but it looks like its in decent shape. Needs a battery, maybe a belt, a carb and a passenger side window. I dont know anything about these 90 model trucks. This worth hanging on to?

Looks like you've got terrible luck
1. It's an old body style
2. It appears to have the undesirable short bed
3. It has a gas guzzling engine

I'd post the address and your availability tomorrow and someone might come take it off your hands for whatever it will roll across the scales for.

I'm all seriousness we'd probably need some more information but whether you want to keep it or sell it you came to the right place.

If you want a project you've got a good canvas. If you want a little cash you can get it.

I'd add a hidden kill switch or two and keep it out of any major metro areas

I'm considering the project route. Not sure how big of a deal the missing title is. Going to trailer it back home and see how big of a headache I'm working with.

no matter what you do it's still a Cheyenne package
I tried to restore a 94 and it was an expensive nightmare

Would appreciate the details - i love these trucks, but haven't tried to restore or buy one yet.

With the price of squares beginning to get out of reach for some, this is the next one to appreciate in value. See a lot of them on the road again.
You should be able to get a bonded title rather easy. Enjoy your 454 OBS!

Do you know who the truck was previously titled to? Are they alive?

If so, all you need is an application for certified copy of title, a scan of the owner's DL, signature of owner on the Limited Power of Attorney for Eligible Motor Vehicle Transactions, signature of owner on 130U, bill of sale or family transfer.

Apply for the certified copy of title, when it arrives, continue with title transfer as if it were a sale.

And if the owner is deceased, just sign everything in his name anyway. Nobody cares. Keep it simple.

Get a bonded title and bring it back to op condition.

Parts are plentiful if you want to go back to sticker condition or upgrade to higher-end.

You sure it's not a 1991? I drove a 92 to over 375k and it definitely had a different front fascia/grill.

I like the two-tone color. I don't why, but I loved the dash boards on those late 80s, early 90s GM trucks. I had an 89 model.

Also, does this truck have two keys? Door and ignition keys?

I might have a shot at a lost title. Working through that now. Bonded title if that falls through.

I was told it was a '92 from the original owner so I'm assuming he remembers what he bought.

No keys at all so I'm not sure if it needs a separate one for the door. Need a title to get a key cut.
