20 years ago my grandfather (who has since passed away) gifted me his 1942 Willys. I've over time got it going again and it's pretty fun to cruise around in. However I have no title and have no idea how to get one. He didn't give me any paperwork and whatever he had is long gone.

Can you create a title from scratch or is it a lost cause?

Pic of Jeep in a parade last weekend. yes, I did zip tie a blue tooth speaker to the front bumper and play the Aggie War Hymn over and over the entire time.

bonded title is most likely the quickest way to deal with this. I am not sure if the lost title process would work in this situation. Bonded Title process isn't all that tedious & if I recall you end up with a regular blue title when the bond "falls off". Either way you can get it plated with antique plates for like $25/5 years.

Call Leesy Palmer at Classic Auto Title. Her number is 214-697-8948. She will do all of the paperwork, set up the bond, etc. Tell her Doug from Classic Collision and Restoration sent you. She's an expert and knows exactly what Texas wants to get you a title.

Really cool looking jeep.
I learned how to drive in one of those at my grandfathers place, believe I was 12 years old.
Wish I could have kept it!
