So the wife has an Acura MDX that has been great but the last several months has had a weird, intermittent AC issue.

Sometimes the AC simply won't blow at all. Like absolutely but when we've taken it to the shop they can't identify the issue because it will work perfectly fine.

But the kicker is that even when the AC isn't working in the front vents it still works and blows cold from the vents in the rear seats.

Anybody ever seen this happen or have any ideas?

That's what I would think but are there separate ones for the front & rear AC? Because the AC in the back seats works fine.

If you can operate the rear AC independently (ie adjust the fan) then it has it's own blower motor.
