Can anyone help me understand how these 'Bonus Customer Cash' incentives work?

Looking at a new 2025 Ranger XLT and seeing that $2,000 Bonus Customer Cash listed (PGM #11604) on all the central Texas Ford dealership sites, yet the eligibility requirements are still entirely unclear.

Called a dealership twice today, spoke with 2 different salesmen:
  • Guy 1 - Said the Customer Cash Back was 'loyalty-based' and that he needed my contact info to plug it into their system to see if I was eligible - apparently I was not. I also told him I am a Ford owner (2018 F-150 - bought new) and was looking to do a trade-in - still not eligible.
  • Guy 2 - Said the Customer Cash Back was only available if I was financing through FMC. I actually spoke with this same guy a few weeks earlier and he said I was eligible even if I was paying cash. Said he didn't remember that discussion.
I've been running around in circles at this point and it's pretty frustrating that I cannot get a concensus from any dealership I've talked with, nor any documentation from the Ford website that gives any details on this incentive.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

The dealer can plug your name and address in and see if you qualify.

Just got off the phone with another dealership that showed Customer Cash Back discount (same PGM #11604)and he said that the $2,000 is taken off the total MSRP, no contigencies or special qualifications needed.

Any idea on why there is no concensus? I appreciate your response, truly just trying to understand the process.

If they require you to finance with FMC just do it and then flip it to a credit union or other before making first payment. I've done this several times for other rebates. I think it screws either the dealer or finance guy on their kickback if you refinance before 90 days but car dealers are scum so who cares.

Ha that's likely what I'm going to end up doing. Appreciate the tip.

Obviously, there are exceptions, but generally some of the sales reps aren't the most intelligent or diligent people out there....

So, considering that and the number of different incentives Ford releases and how they are applied.....I think a lot of the sales reps don't even try understanding them, just plug the info into the computer and see if the customer qualifies.
