Saw this today on click2Houston.com. Per the story, effective immediately on Nov 18, Texas department of motor vehicles now requires a valid state photo id to get a vehicle registration- new, used, or a renewal. I don't remember providing my drivers liscense before to get a renewal.
I don't see how this won't seriously impact vehicle sales, new and used. Wondering how you mail off for a renewal now. And if you sell a used vehicle to an illegal immigrant, how do they get it registered and taken out of your name. I bet the county vehicle registrations will be a cluster for a while as this becomes known.
Curious what people in the business think. Will those affected go to neighboring states to buy/ register?
